Principle of ultrasonic demulsification equipment


Ultrasonic demulsification equipment is based on the "displacement effect" generated by ultrasonic waves acting on fluid media that are not used to achieve oil-water separation. Due to the "displacement effect", the water ions will continuously move, gather and collide in the direction of the antinode or the node, and generate water droplets with larger diameters and separate from the oil under the action of gravity. In the standing wave field, the uneven distribution of the sound pressure causes the water particles to be unevenly distributed, which is more conducive to the collision of water particles in the crude oil, thereby achieving the purpose of demulsification. The equipment mainly uses the mechanical vibration and heat of ultrasonic waves.


1. Mechanical vibration promotes the condensation of water particles. When the ultrasonic waves pass through a crude oil medium having suspended water particles, the suspended water particles are caused to vibrate together with the crude oil medium. Since the suspended water particles of different sizes have different relative vibration speeds, the water particles will collide and adhere to each other, so that the volume and mass of the particles are increased

2. The mechanical vibration can disperse the natural emulsifier such as paraffin, colloid and asphalt in the crude oil medium, increase its solubility, reduce the mechanical strength of the oil-water interface film, and facilitate the separation and separation of the water phase.

3. The heat action can reduce the strength of the oil-water interface film and the viscosity of the crude oil. On the one hand, the boundary friction increases the temperature at the oil water boundary, which is conducive to the rupture of the interface film. On the other hand, the absorption of part of the acoustic energy by the crude oil can reduce the viscosity of the crude oil and facilitate the gravity sedimentation separation of the water particles.
